THE FULL JOURNEY · 8–16 WEEKS

From idea to production

No mystery, no missing steps. This is the exact path every Customs client walks — with checkpoints where you stay in control.

STEP 01

The consultation

It starts with a call — where you're at, what you're building, and whether Customs is genuinely the right fit for you. If Express serves you better, we'll say so.

STEP 02

The design phase

Already have tech packs? We work straight from them. Starting from an idea? We design alongside you — showing you styles, refining details — typically around 30 days depending on how dialed-in your vision is.

STEP 03

Your sample

We produce a physical sample of your design — $250 per piece, about a month to make. And that $250 isn't a fee: it's credited back in full the day you place your production order.

STEP 04

Our quality check, then yours

Every sample passes our internal quality control before it ships to you. Then it's in your hands — and you get 10 business days to wear it, judge it, and tell us what to keep, change, or remove.

STEP 05

The production order

Sample approved, we issue your invoice. A 30% deposit confirms the order — bulk production doesn't begin until it's paid, which protects both sides.

STEP 06

Bulk production

Your line goes into full production: 55–60 days of cutting, washing, finishing and QC at scale.

STEP 07

Balance & shipping

Before your product leaves the port, you're notified — the remaining 70% balance is settled, and your production ships to you.

Why the sample costs $250 — and why it's free

A real sample means pattern work, fabric, wash and finishing on a single piece — it costs us far more than $250 to make. You put skin in the game, we put in more, and the moment you place your production order the $250 comes off your invoice. Serious brands only; no charge for commitment.

How payment works

Nothing is due until your sample is approved and your invoice is issued. Then it's simple: 30% deposit starts bulk production, and the 70% balance is settled just before your finished product ships from the port. You never pay for production you haven't approved.

Express or Customs?

Most brands start on Express and graduate to Customs once demand is proven. Both roads lead to your label.

GOOD TO KNOW

Customs — common questions

What are the minimums?

100 pieces per style, with a 300-piece total order minimum. If that's out of reach today, the Express program starts at one piece.

How long does the whole process take?

8–16 weeks depending on your starting point: design takes around 30 days (faster with ready tech packs), the sample about a month, and bulk production 55–60 days after your deposit.

Do I need tech packs?

No. If you have them, we build straight from them. If you don't, the design phase exists exactly for that — we design with you and show you styles to react to.

What does the sample cost?

$250 per piece, taking about a month to produce — and it's credited back in full when you place your production order.

How do payments work?

30% deposit after your invoice is issued (production starts once it's paid), and the remaining 70% before your finished product ships from the port.

What if I want changes after the sample?

That's what your 10-business-day review window is for — tell us what to keep, change or remove, and we adjust before anything goes to production.
